FORD VAN LEASING
When you think of Ford vans there is one name that generally stands above all others – the Ford Transit. This vehicle has become the centrepiece of Ford’s van production line and has been the best-selling light commercial vehicle in Europe for more than 40 years.
Ford vans’ most popular vehicle was first introduced in the UK in 1965 and has its roots firmly in England (though an earlier model was developed in Germany) having been initially produced at Ford’s Langley facility in Berkshire. Even when Ford ended car production in the UK in 2002, production of the Ford Transit van continued.
Today the Ford Transit can be found in many variations including a minibus, a chassis cab and a tipper (the Ford Transit One-Stop). There is also a panel van version of the Ford Transit, called the Transit Connect, in the modern Ford vans range. It has short and long wheel bases, and is considered to be both dependable and economical.
The Transit isn’t alone among Ford vans, however. The Ford Galaxy is a popular people-carrier while the Ford Ranger is built for the outdoors with three distinctive cab styles to choose from – double cab, super cab and regular cab.
The Ford van range also includes the Ford Fiesta van which has some of the largest load space of all the small vans on the market. It has wide, high-opening tailgate and low loading for easy access.
Variations of the Transit continue to make waves, however. The Ford Transit Tourneo won the prestigious title of international van of the year in 2007 thanks in part to its driveability, car-like interior and highly acclaimed handling. The new Ford Tourneo is available as both an eight-seat and a nine-seat vehicle, while the Tourneo Connect offers real versatility with back doors that open to almost 180 degrees and a spacious interior.
